Who We Are
Icarus was founded in late 2023 in the cold months by Founder Thomas Somen. With the thought of Summer in the back of our heads, we had to do something.
Built off of 3 Main Points, Adventure, Style, Comfort. The 3 Points Are What we call the "Icarus Promise"With these 3 points in mind. Icarus was set off with a dream with no intentions of looking back. The only way was forward and thats where we are today.
We will continue to hold ourselves accountable to the 3 points to ensure that we grow the lake lifestyle for generations to come.
Our Mission
At Icarus Surf Co., founded by Thomas Somen(Left), we are more than just a surf lifestyle brand—we are a movement built on chasing horizons, living boldly, and embracing the endless spirit of the water. In time, Peter Louise(Right) joined the team, bringing fresh vision and energy that helped elevate Icarus Surf Co. to new heights and expand what the brand could become.
Our mission is to design and deliver gear that inspires Adventure, defines effortless Style, and guarantees uncompromising Comfort. Whether it’s the perfect hoodie after a dawn surf session, a cap shading you on the boat, or gear that carries you seamlessly from the lake to the streets, Icarus Surf Co. is committed to keeping you ready for every wave, journey, and story ahead.
At Icarus Surf Co., our name reminds us that flying too close to the sun isn’t a warning—it’s an invitation. We believe in pushing limits, celebrating the ride, and never compromising on quality, creativity, or authenticity.
Why "Icarus"
Our Founder states that he found the name in the song "Icarus" by Bastille
With this in mind while creating the brand and some research behind the name it comes out to Icarus which is a Greek Mythological figure who flew to close to the sun, burning his wax wings and drowning.
Tying in with the water aspect and being rebelious to his father, it ties in well with Our Idea of taking your own road and paving your own path like we want for all of our Customers and Followers!
